Japanese pop star Hikaru Utada released their latest single “Mine or Yours” today, available on all streaming services. To celebrate the release of the latest song in their storied career, Utada will appear on The Zane Lowe Show and on the popular Japanese-music-centric YouTube channel THE FIRST TAKE, both premiering on May 2.
Their latest single is Utada’s first new work since releasing their first best-of album SCIENCE FICTION last year. To celebrate the start of this new era in the artist’s celebrated career, they will appear on The Zane Lowe Show for the first time in three years. Hosted by celebrated journalist and DJ Zane Lowe, this program will allow Utada to have a special conversation about their art and life. The episode premiers live on Apple Music from 2:00 am Japan Standard Time, and can be accessed anytime from this link.
To further commemorate the release, Utada will perform “Mine or Yours” on popular Japanese YouTube channel THE FIRST TAKE, which finds artists performing songs in front of a single microphone in one take. Utada’s appearance on the show premiers Friday night at 10 pm in Japan, and will be the series 544th installment.
The new single and appearances on popular internet programs follows the release of three remixes of Utada’s song “Electricity,” done by electronic artists Karen Nyame KG, Arca and salute. Utada made a special appearance at Arca’s Coachella set in April, marking their second appearance at the festival.
