K-pop icons SHINee’s back with a new single ‘Poet | Artist’. The release coincides with the group’s 17th anniversary and trio of sold-out concert dates in Seoul this week from May 23 - May 25.
The two-track single release showcases SHINee’s unique musical style and innovative performances. ‘Poet | Artist’ is a summer-ready, electropop song blending punchy snare hits and reggae rhythms.
Written by JONGHYUN specifically for SHINee, the song carries a meaningful message about embodying the freedom of a poet and artist in everyday life, encouraging listeners to create something new together.
SHINee performed the new single for thousands of fans at their SHINee WORLD VII [E.S.S.A.Y] (Every Stage Shines Around You) concert dates, which ran from Friday 23 May until Sunday 25 May at KSPO DOME.
The b-side ‘Starlight’, is a dance-pop mid-tempo that combines funky electric guitars with SHINee’s signature dynamic vocals and rich harmonies. The track is co-written and produced by Grant Boutin, who co-produced Tate McRae’s chart-topping smash ‘Greedy’.
As the group marks 17 years since their debut, SHINee has not only solidified their icon status in K-pop with their distinctive musical style and performances; their songs continue to go viral. Irresistible hits like ‘Lucifer’, ‘Replay’ and ‘Ring Ding Dong’ have inspired countless dance challenges around the globe, bringing new audiences to SHINee’s discography every day.
