After the excitement of FESTA, j-hope's final two shows in Seoul, and now the beginning of Jin’s RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR, ARMYs have been gifted more content. BTS are set to release their first-ever live album, PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LIVE, along with an accompanying digital code, ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – SEOUL’, on July 18th.
The tour, which undoubtedly has become an unforgettable experience for both artist and fans, brought warmth and excitement in the aftermath of the pandemic. It began in October 2021 with an online concert; offering a much-needed sense of connection between BTS and ARMY. Originally, the group had planned a 39-show, four-leg world tour titled MAP OF THE SOUL. However, due to the uncertainty brought on by COVID-19 the tour was ultimately cancelled. Yet they put on MAP OF THE SOUL: ON: E two online shows to promote their MAP OF THE SOUL series.
The tour felt like a consoling hug following the cancellation of their previous plans. During this time, BTS released Butter, Permission To Dance, and Dynamite, all of which not only lifted the spirits but also propelled them even further into the global spotlight. Many new ARMYs found the group during this time, while at home, drawn into the bright, happy and uplifting music. That spirit was the embodiment of this tour, which had started on October 24th at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. Although the venue held 80,000 seats, the performance was available to watch globally via pay-per-view streaming on Weverse. From there the group announced in-person shows to be held at the Sofi Stadium in California, ultimately totalling 12 shows from Seoul, LA, and of course Las Vegas. It amassed over 4 million attendees/viewers total, across all formats, including in-person concerts (LIVE PLAY) and virtual live streams (LIVE VIEWING).
Before their Las Vegas concerts, BTS attended the Grammys where they performed Butter to a standing ovation. The city embraced their presence by transforming into Borahe Vegas to welcome ARMYS who could finally travel to see the group perform live. The strip saw iconic buildings lit up in the signature purple colour and displayed illuminated billboards with the word Borahaegas and the Bellagio fountains creating special water light shows dancing alongside famous BTS tracks.
The live album features 22 tracks performed during the tour, including BTS’ iconic global hits such as Dynamite, Butter, Life Goes On, Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey), ON, and more. The excitement to hear the stunning transitions from the emotional and well-loved Blue & Grey into Fake Love and Black Swan will be something fans will be very excited to relive.
Officially available in live version for the first time, the album will bring back those nostalgic memories of a time when the tour offered comfort during uncertainty. It brought people together both online and in person, resonating through stadiums around the world.
In addition to the album, fans can revisit the Seoul leg of the tour with ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – SEOUL’, which includes a 141-minute digital code featuring a video compilation of the group’s performances from the final show of the three-day concerts held at Olympic Stadium in Seoul from March 10 to 13, 2022, along with a 92-page interview photobook offering behind-the-scenes moments from the concert and more that allows fans to relive every moment of the concert. The digital code will be offered in a card format that allows users to enter the code on the global fandom platform Weverse to access high-definition VOD content that can be viewed through the Weverse app or website by scanning a QR code or entering the provided digital code.[공지] BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - SEOUL (DIGITAL CODE) 출시 안내 (+ENG/JPN/CHN)
