On July 2, group KARD (J.Seph, BM, Somin, and Jiwoo) released their 8th mini album "DRIFT."
If the previous KARD 7th Mini Album "Where To Now? (Part.1: Yellow Light)" sang about the worries and gazes of the moment of stopping, this album continues the answer to the question, ‘Where to now?’
It seems to flow without a set path, but there is definitely a direction unique to KARD within it. A journey of galloping on an unfamiliar road, sometimes stopping, and drawing one’s own orbit. That is KARD’s ‘DRIFT’.
As they have always done, they are creating their own path without being confined to the existing framework. In this album as well, you can find the global appearance of KARD that flexibly crosses genre boundaries even in uncertain flow.
Confusion, excitement, unfamiliarity, and freedom.
‘DRIFT’ is not a record of drifting without direction, but of KARD’s present confidently moving toward an unknown destination.
The mini album contains 5 new tracks; 'BETCHA,' 'Touch,' 'Before We Go,' 'Top Down,' 'Pivot' and 2 instrumentals for 'Touch' and 'Pivot'. The title track 'Touch' is a song that naturally makes you follow the rhythm by adding a brisk percussion on a beat that reinterprets the 2000s sensibility in a trendy way. It captivates someone who immediately catches their eye at a hot city party and delivers a strong and confident message that ‘if you can’t have me, you’ll be sad.’
The flux synth combined with a unique rhythm makes the colorful colors of the party shine, and the strings are used as steps and pads to express the tension in the air, completing the captivating atmosphere of the party. “Bet you like it now you giving it all up”
