EXO's Chanyeol has unveiled his second mini-album, "Upside Down."
This album comes a year after Chanyeol's first solo album, "Black Out," released in August 2024. Chanyeol delivers a total of six tracks, featuring his signature band sound, as well as pop, rock, hip-hop, and R&B, once again incorporating his own unique touches into various genres.
The album captures the diverse emotions experienced in life. True to its title, "Upside Down," expresses not only brilliant moments like happiness, love, and friendship, but also darker moments like pain, hurt, and emptiness, delivering a sense of catharsis to listeners.
The title track 'Upside Down' is an electronic rock track that combines distorted guitar riffs, classic rock-style drums, and electronic synths. The lyrics express a fervent determination not to give up even in the face of seemingly impending world-ending hardship. Chanyeol's diverse vocals, which evolve with the song's escalating development, add to its appeal.

Furthermore, the alternative hip-hop track 'Back & Forth' tells the story of a precarious relationship, one that's both loving and repeatedly hurtful. 'Happy Accident' is an R&B track that compares the process of becoming a couple to a happy accident, featuring the harmonious vocals of Chanyeol and featured artist SOLE.

'High & Dry,' a slow-tempo pop song influenced by country and pop rock, depicts a yearning to rediscover one's true self amidst lethargy. 'Ocean Drive,' a pop-rock track featuring a glitchy, hyper-pop guitar, sings of a trip with friends, celebrating the dazzling power of friendship.
