After a long seven-year wait, the members of fromis_9 finally returned to the American stage, and the energy at a packed Palladium Times Square on August 26th was nothing short of sparkling. The crowd of FLOVERs waited in anticipation until the ladies finally hit the stage opening with "WE GO” kicked off the concert, signaling the start of a long-awaited reunion.
From the very first moment, it was clear this was not just a performance; it was a celebration years in the making, a mutual exchange of love and excitement between the artists and their dedicated fans who had waited far too long for this moment.
The laminated their gratitude, stating, “We have had a concert in New York before and I think we forgot how much energy you guys have. I think you have once again shown how much energy FLOVERs have.” This statement perfectly encapsulated the night: a powerful reminder of the unbreakable bond between fromis_9 and their fans.
The concert’s first act was a powerful showcase of the group’s vibrant and diverse discography. Tracks like “REBELUTIONAL” and “Love=Disaster” hit with an immense force, the group’s synchronized choreography sharp and full of conviction.
The setlist then expertly transitioned into the b-side section, treating fans to deeper cuts like the moody “Twisted Love” and the fan-favorite “Blind Letter.” The evening’s whimsical highlight arrived with the sweet, synth-pop sounds of “Strawberry Mimosa,” during which the members gleefully tossed adorable strawberry-shaped balls into the ecstatic crowd, creating a perfectly immersive and playful moment.
The concert highlighted the incredible individual talents within the group, and the solo stages were a masterclass in versatility. From Jiheon’s charming cover of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” to Nagyung’s emotive rendition of TAEYEON’s “All About You,” each member had their chance to shine.
Standouts included Chaeyoung’s confident take on Selena Gomez’s “Who Says” and Jiwon’s show-stopping, powerful performance of Ariana Grande’s “Greedy,” which brought the house down. Hayoung then shifted the energy completely with a fierce and captivating dance solo to EVAN GIIA’s “ANXIETY KILLS,” demonstrating breathtaking precision and stage presence.
Following the solo performances, the group returned as a full unit to deliver a relentless barrage of hits that turned the venue into a massive dance party. The infectious energy of “Attitude” and “Supersonic” was overwhelming, but it was the one-two punch of the addictive “LIKE YOU BETTER” and the concert’s titular track, “DM,” that truly sent the energy levels into the stratosphere.
The synergy between the members was undeniable; their smiles were genuine and wide as they fed off the crowd’s passionate singing and constant cheers, creating a feedback loop of pure, unadulterated joy.
The main set concluded, but the deafening cheers of “Encore!” brought fromis_9 back to the stage for a final, glorious send-off. The encore segment was a perfect dose of serotonin, featuring the sunny “Stay This Way” and “Feel Good (SECRET CODE).”
The night culminated in a nostalgic and explosive finale with the fan-voted “LOVE BOMB,” a beloved classic that served as a heartfelt thank you to the fans who have supported them from the beginning. Toward the end of the concert the members seemed genuinely moved to tears, soaking in the moment and the unwavering support.
"Now Tomorrow" was a triumphant declaration of their growth and a promise to return to fans.
