My Bias Is Showing! is a BL drama based on a popular Korean webtoon by Eol and Nabit. The series brings to life a unique romance that bridges the gap between idol culture and everyday life, offering fans an intimate look at what happens when fantasy meets reality. The adaptation has garnered attention not only for its compelling source material but also for its cast of rising stars who bring authenticity and charm to their roles.

The story follows high school teacher Na Ae-joon, played by Kevin of OMEGA X, who harbors a secret passion as a devoted fan of idol Choi Si-yeol from the popular boy group A-one, portrayed by actor and model Kim Kang Min. When fate intervenes and brings them together during a school filming event, what begins as a chance encounter evolves into something far more profound. Their unexpected meeting sets the stage for an emotional journey that explores the complexities of love, the weight of revenge, and the unconventional dynamics of idol-fan relationships.

Adding depth to the narrative is fellow OMEGA X member Junghoon, who takes on the role of J.J, the charismatic leader of A-one. The drama promises to delve into the challenges and vulnerabilities that come with celebrity, the boundaries between public personas and private life and the courage it takes to pursue genuine connection in a world built on carefully constructed images. With its blend of romance, drama, and insight into the entertainment industry, My Bias Is Showing! offers viewers a heartfelt exploration of love that defies expectations.

The OST was released on September 27, it features four tracks with significant OMEGA X member involvement: "덕통사고 (Countdown)" is a J-Rock inspired track about unexpected love, sung by Kevin and Junghoon. "DIVE" is a house genre track comparing love's uncertainty to diving into the ocean; composed by Jaehan and Yechan. "TAKE ME OVER"  is an upbeat funk-pop track featuring Junghoon, Xen, Taedong, and Jehyun and finally "Pure Love" is a ballad about innocent romance. The album was completed with help from experienced producers including ByHVN, NickIE (PAPERMAKER), and NE:ON.

The series is an adaptation of a popular webtoon. How did you balance staying true to the original story while also bringing something new to the characters?

Kim Kang Min: First of all, I know that the webtoon that the series is based on is very popular, I tried to approach the character, Choi Si-yeol, as closely as possible to the original, while still adding my own interpretation and style to the voice, visuals, types of clothes, to bring out his charm as a character in the drama.

Kevin: I think there were many similar traits between Ae-joon from the original webtoon and the Ae-Joon that I am portraying through drama, so I tried to preserve many of these traits. At the same time, I didn't want the character to be seen just bright and bubbly, as I wanted to add more dimensions to the character.

Kevin, how was it to experience the fan’s perspective in the drama, considering that in real life you are usually the “bias” of so many people?

Kevin: The biggest difference that I felt was that an idol is someone who receives so much love from fans, and fans show their support and love for their favorite idols. Going into this drama, I've really been thinking that I should give back all the love that I receive from my fans.

What stood out to you the most about your character when you first read the script?

Kevin: For me, there are different versions of Ae-joon; when he thinks about Si-yeol, when he's teaching the students, and when he just lives his normal day. Difference between each version of Ae-joon felt really dynamic, so that stood out to me a lot.

Kim Kang Min: I think the part that stood out to me the most, also the most important point, was the element of fantasy this drama has. To have the celebrity you've loved so much as a big fan appear in front of you and spend most of the day with you adds an element of fantasy to the drama, which I think really stands out.

Chemistry between the main characters is essential in this type of drama. How did you build that connection both on and off set?

Kim Kang Min: As I mentioned before, from the very beginning, the story starts an element of fantasy with someone that the character has loved so much as a fan appearing in front of him. So of course, we did script readings and met with the director together, but as we got to know more about each other on set, we grew closer little by little, just like our characters do in the drama. I think this created a great synergy between us, both in drama and reality.

Your character Na Ae Joon is a high school teacher. If you were not a singer and actor, would you have liked to work in this profession?

Kevin: I think a teacher's role should be fulfilled by someone who is a better fit than me. But while playing this character, I thought it was such a charming career. Teachers work with the students and help them achieve their dreams, and I thought it must be a really rewarding job.

How did you choose to come back to acting with this role?

Kim Kang Min: From an actor's perspective, I'm very thankful for any offer that come my way. Considering my filmography so far, I've done a historical drama, a college drama, and works showing just normal, everyday life. I was thankful to take on a genre I had never tried before, and thought it would be good for me to try something new.

Are there any qualities of the characters you play that you have incorporated from your own personalities?

Kevin: I thought Ae-joon and I have similar personalities, so I think the character I portrayed is really half Ae-joon and half me. Considering the director was happy and gave me 'okay' signs for many scenes I acted, I think I did a pretty good job into making the character into my own with our similarities that I found.

Kim Kang Min: There are four characters in the drama, including me. I approached each character differently, but I think the part of my own character that is most similar to me is that way I treat a character named Joo-ha, whom I think of very fondly. As Joo-ha is like an older-brother figure to Si-yeol, I think my scenes acting with Joo-ha captured the most similarities between I and Si-yeol.

If you could swap roles, what do you think would be the hardest part about playing the other character?

Kevin: We've thought about this before... If we were to swap characters, that would mean that I'd be playing an idol? I think Si-yeol's unbeatable physique is something that would be really hard to overcome. Honestly, because I am a member of an idol group in real life, I think there wouldn't be much difficulty portraying that aspect of the role, but I think Si-yeol's figure is really something that would be hard for me to pull off.

Kim Kang Min: In the drama, I play an idol and Kevin plays a teacher, and there's actually a scene in the drama like this, where we swap each other's jobs in the drama. I'm an actor, and Kevin is originally an idol, so when we switched careers of our characters, I think it was honestly more comfortable playing each other's roles. Visually, Kevin has this idol-like style that suits him, and I prefer to dress in a more classic or dandy style. So, honestly, I think switching roles was more comfortable for the both of us.

What do you hope fans, especially those in K-pop fandoms, take away from this story about the human behind the idol persona?

Kevin: I think the feeling of liking someone purely and genuinely is very important. Some people might view it as not too sincere, but having such affection without any filters feels so precious. Beyond the drama's genre, I hope fans will be able to feel that, "Wow, these two characters are sharing a beautiful love," after watching our drama, just like after watching any other drama or love story.
