Group NMIXX is set to captivate fans once again with their first full-length album Blue Valentine, on October 13, marking a significant milestone in their artistic journey.

The Story Behind the Album

According to the album's narrative concept, NMIXX enters the Blue Valentine Stage just before reaching their destination of Mixxтopia. The six members discover a startling truth: this adventure is actually their Nth attempt, and they have failed at the Blue Valentine Stage every previous time.

Faced with this revelation, the group must make a difficult choice—whether to risk everything and complete the adventure or turn back. This internal conflict causes tension within the MMU (their metaphorical vehicle), where each member's "impetus" (their emotional fuel) begins to clash and scatter. Eventually, the engine breaks down entirely.

The album explores the central theme of "ambivalent feelings in love and the inevitable conflicts between people who care for each other." It depicts the cyclical nature of how love can both inflict and receive wounds—hurting those we love and being hurt by them in return.

The album includes 12 tracks; the title track 'Blue Valentine,' 'SPINNIN' ON IT,' 'Phoenix,' 'Reality Hurts,' 'RICO,' 'Game Face,' 'PODIUM,' Crush On You,' 'ADORE U,' 'Shape of Love,' 'O.O Pt.1 (Baila),' 'O.O Pt.2 (Superhero)'

Track Highlights

'Blue Valentine' Music Video

The title track is a pop song that stands out with its blue mood, dynamic BPM changes, and an addictively catchy chorus melody. Melancholic synth sounds and guitar riffs drive the composition, while boom-bap rhythms that slow down and speed up alternately add dimensional depth to the track. The song expresses the moment when emotions collide and the desire to reignite warmth in hearts that have grown cold.

'SPINNIN' ON IT'

A pre-released song, this alternative pop track features a catchy bass riff, rough and powerful drums, and impressive R&B-style vocal phrasing. Simultaneously energetic and delicate, the song showcases call-and-response sections that follow the chorus melody and NMIXX's signature group vocals. The lyrics portray a relationship that persists through repeated conflicts and confusion, unable to let go despite the chaos.

With "Blue Valentine," NMIXX continues to push creative boundaries while exploring the complex emotional landscapes of love and connection.
