CORTIS broke ground as the first K-pop group to perform at the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game halftime show at Kia Forum headlining the NBA Crossover concert series in Los Angeles on February 13.
The group debuted in August 2025 with a self-produced approach that challenges traditional K-pop conventions. Their name stands for COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES, reflecting their creative independence.
Their debut album "Color Outside the Lines" reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200—making them the only 2025 rookie group to hit that mark—and surpassed 100 million streams within a month. The group spent three months in LA before debuting, working with American producers and filming music videos featuring iconic city landmarks.
Beyond their album success, CORTIS has secured major soundtrack placements, including "GO!" on NBA 2K26 and "Mention Me" for the Stephen Curry-produced animated film "GOAT." Their NBA partnership reflects the growing connection between K-pop and basketball, following collaborations with artists like BTS's SUGA, LE SSERAFIM, and ENHYPEN.
