Congratulations on releasing your first single “Booster”! How did you each feel when you first heard the song?

Ju Sung: Since this was going to be our very first project together, I felt incredibly excited and amazed. At the same time, I was worried about how we could pull it off well. But after thinking deeply and practicing hard with the members, I believe we were able to create a great result.

“Booster” focuses on themes of freedom, momentum, and escaping daily stress. Is there a moment in your own lives when you really related to this message?

Seung Woo: Yes, I think everyone experiences moments like that at least once. There are times when you want to escape, even briefly, from repetitive daily life or unexpected pressure. To me, “Booster” felt like a song that helps you move forward again during those moments.

As a rookie group, what was the most challenging part of preparing for your first release, and how did you overcome it together?

Ju Sung: While preparing for our debut, I think I saw the members more than my own family. They’ve basically become a new family. We all reduced our sleep to practice and worked very hard to present better songs. Seeing the members working hard right beside me actually gave me even more strength.

Each of you brings a unique role to the group—from vocals to rap. How did you work as a team to balance everyone’s strengths in “Booster”?

Gyu Eon: Throughout the practice process, all of us didn’t hold back on giving compliments and feedback to one another. We shared the parts we were worried about and had open conversations so each person could better express their own charm and individuality. Because of that preparation, I think our vocals, rap, and the energy of all five of us were able to come together as one and be delivered effectively.

What is the funniest or most unexpected thing that has happened during practice or filming?

Jae Won: There’s no member on our team who can’t dance, but sometimes one of us struggles with a particular move. When that happens, seeing them awkwardly trying to get it right is so different from their usual selves that it makes us burst out laughing. Since we’re usually very close and joke around a lot, we sometimes laugh just by looking at each other. I was worried whether we could stay focused during real performances, but once filming or performing starts, we suddenly become serious and perform more than twice as well. It’s both funny and fascinating to see.

If “Booster” were a movie, what genre would it be?

Cheol Kyu: I think it would be a youth film. It would show the lives of people who are all living far apart, each deciding that where they currently are is too difficult. So they move to the city in search of their dreams, gather with others who share the same dream, create synergy together, and become sources of strength for one another. That’s the kind of movie it would be.

If you had to describe each other using only emojis, what would they be?

Jae Won: Cheol Kyu is a cat, Seung Woo is a puppy, Gyu Eon is a shark, Jae Won is a raccoon, and Ju Sung is a hamster. They’re also our signature emojis, and I think they came to mind because each animal matches our personality and vibe.

Are you a fan of other artists?

Gyu Eon: Thanks to our seniors BTS, I became interested in music and dance, and I’m still gaining a lot of inspiration and learning from them. My role model is Jungkook sunbaenim, who has the title of “Golden Maknae.” I want to follow his example as much as possible in showing versatility as an artist—whether it’s singing, rapping, or dancing.

If “Booster” represents the beginning of your journey, what kind of story or message do you hope to share in your next song?

Cheol Kyu: If “Booster” represents a beginning, then our next song will carry on that booster energy. We want to give people even more strength than before and attach a “booster” that guides them toward happiness amid their busy and tiring daily lives.

Finally, do you have a special message for AIR around the world who are supporting DROP?

Seung Woo: We prepared very hard as DROP, so we would be grateful if you continue to support us warmly! And just like the meaning of “Air,” we will work even harder so that you can receive and connect with DROP’s moments up close. We’ll show you many cool sides of us. Thank you!
