Global artist Mark Tuan returns with "Alone," his first release of 2026 and the start of a new artistic chapter.
Following Silhouette—an EP that revealed a more honest, unfiltered side of him—"Alone" delves even deeper into vulnerability. While Silhouette introduced listeners to who Mark is beyond the spotlight, "Alone" captures the emotions that surface when everything quiets down: overthinking, emotional isolation, restlessness, and the inner highs and lows of being alone.
Over the past year, Mark has intentionally focused on personal growth and his craft. Committed to evolving sonically, he approached this new era determined to step outside his comfort zone and explore music from a more intimate, emotional perspective. As he continues to discover himself creatively, Mark has found value in taking time to refine and elevate his sound—allowing the music to develop naturally, intentionally, and with feeling.
Sonically, "Alone" marks a significant shift. Built on atmospheric R&B production, layered harmonies, and emotionally charged melodies, the track showcases a fresh sonic approach. Subtle vocal details and layered textures throughout the record convey the song’s emotional complexity, reflecting the shifting thoughts and feelings Mark experiences in moments of loneliness.
The single was co-written by acclaimed singer-songwriter Tone Stith, whose songwriting and vocal style Mark has long admired. Production is by Peyote, noted for his recent work on Doechii’s Alligator Bites Never Heal—an album Mark connected with deeply while shaping the direction of this new phase.
