10 K-pop Artists who were Discovered on K-pop Star

Just like X-Factor or The Voice, Korea has a singing reality show called K-pop Star! With three entertainment companies joining the judging panel, worldwide auditions are held to find the next potential K-Pop star. 


So, here are 10 K-pop artists that were Discovered on K-pop Star:

Jamie (Park Jimin) - Season 1
After winning K-pop Star Jamie, signed with JYP. She debuted in the duo 15& with Baek Ye-rin. In 2015, Jamie made her solo debut with "Hopeless Love" and was also part of a project group called M.O.L.A. (Make Our Life Awesome).



Yoon Hyun-sang - Season 1 
Debuting under Loen Entertainment in 2014, Yoon HyunSang had the privilege to collaborate with IU 
for his debut track, “When Would It Be”.  He is a well-known producer, singer, songwriter and composer. 




LeeHi - Season 1
LeeHi, best known for her songs 'Breathe', 'Holo' and 'NO ONE', was the runners up of K-pop Star Season 1. After the show ended she signed with YG Entertainment and debuted with the "1. 2. 3. 4." on 28th October 2012. 



AKMU - Season 2
The sibling duo debuted under YG Entertainment with their album 'PLAY' after winning Season 2 of K-pop Star. Suhyun made her solo debut with "Alien" and took part in numerous OSTs while her brother, Chanhyuk, had enlisted. 



Choi Ye-geun - Season 2 
Currently working as an independent singer, songwriter and producer, Ye-geun is a K-Indie artist! Debuting as a soloist after K-pop Star, Ye-geun lent her voice to original soundtracks for Office Watch and The Secret Life Of My Secretary. 




Sam Kim - Season 3 
Earning a name for himself in the K-pop industry just in his rookie days, Winning the Best Rookie award at the 2016 Beautiful Mint Life Awards. Some of his hit songs include "Who Are You", "Breathe" and "For Now." He has also composed songs for artists like IU and Park Bo-gum. 


Kwon Jin-ah - Season 3 
From singing to songwriting, Kwon Jin-ah is a highly talented artist! Signing with Antenna Music, Kwon Jin-ah made her debut on 19th September 2016 with the release of her studio album One Strange Night.



Jung Seung-hwan - Season 4 
Seung-hwan's cover of "I Want to Fall in Love" on K-pop Star 4 dominated the Melon Charts for weeks shooting him to fame! Before he made his debut, his original soundtrack for Another Miss Oh, "If It Was You," become very popular. He finally made his debut in November 2016 with "The Fool'.



Lee Jin-ah - Season 4 
The second runner up of K-pop Star Season 4, Lee Jin-ah debuted as a soloist on 10th June 2016. Known for her 'unique' voice, Jin-ah has lent her voice for many K-Drama original soundtracks.  Some of her popular OSTs are "Again Again Again" from Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo and "Dreamy Alarm" from True Beauty!



Jei Yu - Season 5 
Making it to the Top 10, Jei Yu was known for her outstanding singing techniques and skills. Initially opening a YouTube channel after her elimination, Jei Yu signed with WorldStar Entertainment in 2020 to continue making original music.
