Mnet Announces Boys Planet and How to Audition

On December 11, during the Mnet Asian Music Awards, Mnet announced that Boys Planet, the male version of Girls Planet 999 is set for 2022. 

In the meantime, Mnet is currently taking applications from potential contestants between December 11, 2021, and February 11, 2022.


Mnet has since shared that they will be looking for global applicants born before January 1, 2009, as long as they can travel to South Korea and do not belong to any agency. 


Contestants have to choose two out of the following categories - Vocal, Dance, Rap, Acting, and Producing.


Requirements: 


Application Period

December 11th, 2021 ~ February 11th 23:59 (KST), 2022

* The recruitment period may change.

Qualification

Any Male applicants born before January 1st, 2009

Applicants regardless of nationality with qualification to travel abroad

• Individual trainees who don't belong to any company

Category


Choose up to two out of 'Vocal, Dance, Rap, Acting, Producing


Application Content:


* Self-introduction in Korean

* Bust shot in landscape mode

* In case of foreign nationality applicants,

need to include a self-introduction in the applicant's native language

* Audition Video | A video that can show your talent

* frontal full body shot in landscape mode

* under 2 minutes per category


Please do not use a beauty app or camera filter when shooting the video

(SNS ID, phone number, various messenger IDs, etc.)
* Basic profile information

In Girls Planet 999, female contestants from South Korea, China, Japan, and other countries came together to compete for the chance to make a debut with an idol group despite their language and cultural differences.


The program was hosted by actor Yeo Jin Goo, singer Sunmi and Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany were the mentors for the hopeful contestants. 


The final nine contestants of Girls Planet 999 became the group Kep1er that is set to debut in January 2022.
