SM Is The First Korean Entertainment Agency To Join the UN Global Compact

SM Entertainment announced on July 5 that it will be part of the UN Global Compact (UNGC), the world's largest corporate initiative. The reason for this is that the company wants to fortify Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management. With this act, SM Entertainment becomes the first Korean entertainment agency to adhere to this practice.

A ceremony was held in the morning between the company and the UNGC Korea Association. SM Entertainment CEO Lee Sung Su and UNGC Korean Association General Secretary Yoo Yeon Chul were at the event. During the ceremony, certificates were delivered that prove that the company is a member of the corporate initiative. It is also important to note that they revealed the new SM building in Seongsu.

Because of this attitude, the entertainment company faithfully promises to fulfill its social responsibilities as the top ten principles of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. According to SM Entertainment CEO Lee Sung Su, the company will always introduce the best cultural content based on Culture Technology (CT). Therefore, following the same values of ESG management.
