[Review] BSS Back with a Rush of Second Wind with New Single Album

 

BSS is back after five long years with their brand new single album Second Wind the mini album was released on 6th February at 6 pm KST. The awaited comeback was teased with incredibly creative teaser posters and single previews. The mini-track snippets teased a medley of visuals that hinted at a fitness theme. After their official debut in 2018 with the track "Just Do it," the fitness and motivation theme has followed suit with their title track which does just that.



Listeners are provided with the three tracks to help with key points during your day. Each song is curated for morning, afternoon, and evening. 


Starting at a high speed to kickstart your morning is the standout lead track “Fighting” (feat Lee Young Ji) is there to boost morale. Encouraging the day ahead “On a day like any other day, You hear this song start to play. We'll be thеre to sing it for you. Gotta keep going, what else can you do? Fighting, yeah.Fighting, yeah. Don't give it up, never give it up, yeah”


The accompanying music video was released on February 6th saw the track produced by Bumzu, and Seventeen member Woozi and arranged by fellow members S.Coups and Hoshi



To perk up your afternoon and prevent that dreaded afternoon lag track “Lunch” provides fun and playful lyrics such as “The frozen rhythm (Frozen) in the freezer (Yeah) needs defrosting. Just chop off the right amount. Pour the sauce over this song (Oh)I'll debut as a perfect chef for you (Oh-oh-oh)to perk you up for the afternoon ahead.” Rounding off the album nicely with  “7pm(feat Peder Elias)” a slow and soothing ballad number to ease into the evening gently.



BSS (Boo Seok Soon) made up of DK, Hoshi, and Seungkwan has proved just how eager CARATS have waited for this comeback, the unit has dominated and broken chart records. Although a mini album it’s far from mini in sales with over 478,600 copies sold on its first day. The title track “Fighting” made it to the top 10 in over 33 countries, holding no 1 in over 24 countries. Second Wind acts as your personal cheerleader throughout the day. Available on all platforms and all good retailers.
