SM Announces Comeback Plans for aespa, RIIZE, Red Velvet, TVXQ, Taemin and Taeyeon

SM Entertainment has revealed a strong lineup of comebacks and projects for Q4. Beginning with NCT 127, who released their fifth studio album earlier in the month, SM’s headlining artists – including aespa, Red Velvet, Taeyeon and TVXQ – in addition to the rookie group RIIZE will be releasing new music throughout the rest of the year.

Since its release on the 6th, NCT 127’s fifth studio album Fact Check has been topping major local charts including Hanteo Chart, HOTTRACKS and Circle Chart, in addition to landing a No. 1 spot on Line Music’s Top 100 Album chart (Japan) and QQ Music’s Digital Album Sales chart (China). Super Junior Yesung’s fifth mini album, Unfading Sense, has also been receiving positive response, rising to the top of iTunes Top Albums charts in 16 countries since its release on Oct 4.

Upcoming Releases

RIIZE

Following its successful debut in September with the single "Get a Guitar", RIIZE plans on making a comeback in late October with a new track. RIIZE instantly earned a million-seller status by selling over 1.02 million copies during its first week of release (according to Hanteo Chart). The title track 'Get a Guitar' has also peaked at No. 18 on Melon’s weekly chart and No. 16 on the daily chart (as of Oct 11), affirming their continuing popularity. The upcoming track is expected to be just as powerful and attention-grabbing as their debut single.

Taemin

Taemin is making a solo return with a new mini album "Guilty" on Oct 30 after a successful celebration of SHINee’s 15th anniversary of debut. Making a long-awaited comeback following his third mini album Advice released in May of 2021, the new mini album will include six tracks embodying Taemin’s singular musicality.

aespa

After the successful completion of their first world tour spanning over 21 cities across Asia, North and South America and Europe, aespa will be releasing a new mini album "Drama" on Nov 10. This follows on the heels of their massively successful third mini album MY WORLD, released back in May, which has given the group a double-million seller title. "MY WORLD" became the most-sold album from a K-pop girl group on its first day of release, in addition to making a 1st-week sales record for a K-pop girl group. With the upcoming album, aespa is expected to carry on the momentum created by MY WORLD’s title track, “Spicy.”

Red Velvet

Red Velvet is making a comeback with their 3rd full album What A Chill Kill on November 13. Embracing the group’s versatility, the upcoming album follows the EP released last year, "The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday," which became a million-seller and is continued to be on the rise.

Taeyeon

Taeyeon is also releasing a new album in November, following her third full album INVU released last February. Taeyeon has been actively reaching fans through a wide array of projects including variety shows, OSTs and commercials, and is excited to make a much-anticipated comeback with new music.

TVXQ

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of its debut in December, TVXQ will release the group’s ninth studio album. The 20-year anniversary celebration, centered around the theme “20&2” (20th Anniversary & Two Members), will be kicked off by an album release on Dec 26 – the day of the anniversary – and include a concert, exhibition and more.

NCT NEW TEAM

NCT NEW TEAM, which is set to make an official debut in 2024, has been reaching fans through a pre-debut campaign. The group released a pre-debut single album Hands Up on the 8th, comprised of the eponymous title song and an accompanying track “We Go!” and has since kicked off a pre-debut tour in Japan. Beginning with shows at Tokyo’s LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on Oct 8 and 9, NCT NEW TEAM is planning to put on a total of 24 shows across nine cities including Osaka and Fukuoka.
