I am generally inspired to cosplay new characters after watching a show they appear in, but I do also have a long list of characters I’ve wanted to cosplay! The list includes longtime favorite characters from shows I’ve watched, video games, and more.
Your Lady Dimitrescu and Yor Forger cosplays were massive hits. What goes into researching and embodying such different character types?
Thank you! I love to emulate the character’s energy so it’s fun to cosplay different personalities. I generally prefer not to cosplay characters I am not familiar with because of this.
What's the most challenging costume piece you've ever created, and what techniques did you have to learn or master for it?
For me, I would say creating the corset and top for my Sesshomaru cosplay. I’m not very handy at sewing, so altering the top and connecting it with my corset was challenging. Sometimes (and by sometimes I mean very often), I rely on hot glue and some hope.
How has your approach to makeup or special effects evolved since you started cosplaying? Any game-changing products or techniques you swear by?
I used to be a makeup artist professionally so that has come in handy with cosplay makeup as well. It really depends on the type of look, but I think a matte highlighter is an absolute game changer as well as a half eyelash curler. There are so many products I love and swear by.

Do you have a favorite or memorable convention experience?
They are all so memorable for me, but most recently at Anime Expo I had the pleasure of working with Crunchyroll to showcase their incredible booth and that was so memorable!
For aspiring cosplayers working with limited budgets, what are your top tips for creating impressive looks without breaking the bank?
Work with what you have, you can do a closet cosplay (using things you have in your closet already) or different variations of the character with what you already have. Cosplay doesn’t have to be perfectly accurate or expensive, it should be about enjoying the cosplay and character and having fun! I’ve done a Tengen cosplay just using regular black shorts or have used random skirts or pieces of excess cloth from other projects to make others work! So many random things you may have laying around the house can be useful. I used an old headphone horn to make a spike in an armor piece once.
What new ventures or expansions are you most excited about as you continue growing your brand?
I just released a podcast called Take A Bite! We have some amazing guests lined up and talk about all things anime, horror, K-pop, and much more!
Do you have any favorite K-pop artists?
I do! My favorites would have to be Ateez and Stray Kids, though I enjoy a ton of other K-pop artists like Enhypen, P1harmony, Xikers, ONEUS, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER to name a few…and plenty more!
Outside of the characters you portray, what keeps you motivated and inspired in your day-to-day life?
I love what I do and just want to keep expanding and improving!
Looking ahead, are there any dream collaborations, characters, or projects you're hoping to tackle in the coming year?
