JYP Entertainment's rookie boy group KickFlip released their third mini-album, "My First Flip," on September 22nd.
KickFlip's third mini-album, "My First Flip," depicts KickFlip's first love, which, despite its slightly twisted nature, never materialized, yet still delightful, with the "love" in "My First Love" replaced with "Flip."
Kickflip makes a comeback after going global
Following the release of their second mini-album, "Kick Out, Flip Now!", Kickflip has been active at global festivals and award shows. At "Lollapalooza Chicago," "Summer Sonic Tokyo/Osaka/Bangkok," and the "TMElive International Music Awards," they showcased their exceptional live performances and skills, fully demonstrating their potential as next-generation stage masters. Despite their busy schedule, Kickflip participated in writing and composing all seven songs on their third mini-album, demonstrating their musical passion. Expectations are high for their future story.
Capturing the Thrilling and Exciting Moment of Confession
The title track, 'My First Love Song' captures the thrilling moment of confessing to your first love. It's a song that makes you feel as if you're the recipient of that confession, your heart pounding and fluttering from beginning to end.
This title track was written and composed by me. I have a special affection for this song because I participated in it! I wanted to express all the emotions: the thrill of confessing to someone for the first time, the hesitation and inability to speak, finally mustering up the courage to say the words, but the nervousness of hesitating after actually confessing. Especially! I think you'll relate to it more deeply if you listen while imagining that scene under the orange sunset sky, an awkward and clumsy male student cautiously confessing to you! - Donghyun
The music video also captures Kickflip's playful and quirky side as he brainstorms with his friends to prepare a confession plan, clumsily but sincerely preparing for it. However, this honest and reckless story of first love unintentionally thrills the viewer, and the ending scene, where the mysterious confession target is actually "me," is particularly heartwarming.
'Band-Aid': Solace for the Painful Failure of First Love
Pre-released through a music video on September 1st, 'Band-Aid' is the epilogue to 'My First Love Song'. They diligently prepared and trembled for their confessions, but ultimately, they never came true. It tells the story of everyone's first love.
The music video also depicts the pain of memories of that person, along with friends who tease him tirelessly, as they each find their own way to comfort each other and move forward.
Additionally, the album tells the story of his mischievous first love, unfolding through the songs Singularity, '404: Not Found,' After falling for your unique and peculiar tastes ('Singularity'), he stutters as if he's making a mistake in front of you ('404: Not Found') and finally confesses to you with a song he's been writing and practicing all night ('My First Love Song,') only to feel the pain of his unrequited first love ('Band-aid') The song is like a youth film or a Shonen comic.
The seven members of Kickflip also portray the bright moments of friendship through 'Again, Here,' 'Gas On It,' and 'Secret Nightmare,' which contain the honest inner feelings of friends their age.
