The boys of ATEEZ are a creative bunch, always having the artistic freedom to branch out with their music. With their latest album full of solo numbers from each member, their music videos have always carried an edge of visuals, be it brooding or even onstage, where they reflect the story and lore they are so well known for. Recent years have seen them dip their toes in the fashion pond.
Leader Hongjoong has gone on to expand that fashion dream into a gorgeous fashion film. Titled Petit Coussin, the mini film consists of vivid imagery that unveils a world of childhood dreams full of nostalgia, creating a new world. The project, a poetic blend of music, fashion, and memory, invites viewers into a tender, dreamlike space that celebrates the wonder of growing up and the beauty of remembering where it all began.
Taking place in Seoul, this fashion film marks Hongjoong’s first venture into creative design, presenting a collection of 24 original outfits. A collection that wouldn't look out of place for any fashion week, the pieces are modern yet carry that soft nostalgic look Hongjoong wishes to display.
Modelled by young people who bring those ideas to life. It holds an innocence taking place in a set up sandy playground that upholds that nostalgia he aims to present. Backed by soft vibes, the story unfolds across four time frames, from dawn to night, each painted with six looks that capture the rhythm and emotion of a daydream.
Every scene moves between nostalgic dance and soft, sentimental pictures, telling a story of imagination, growth, and self-expression.
‘Petit Coussin’ draws inspiration from Hongjoong’s own past, his mother’s children’s clothing store, transforming personal memories into tangible artistry. Through playful silhouettes, tender colours, and delicate textures, Hongjoong reimagines how the dreams of youth can evolve into the creations of adulthood.
It also reflects the blur between K-pop and fashion continuing to expand, with idols becoming increasingly visible in the industry, be it through brand collaborations, attendance at fashion weeks, ambassadorships or even walking the runway. This release stands as a big moment in Hongjoong’s creative journey, reaffirming his role as a visionary who continues to blend music, fashion, and visual storytelling. This serves as a wonderful reminder that the dreams we grew up with can one day become the worlds we build through our art and vision.
