K-pop icon SEVENTEEN officially launched the U.S. leg of their SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_] IN U.S. (hereinafter ‘NEW_’) on Saturday night at Tacoma Dome, delivering a dynamic, career-spanning performance that marked a major milestone: their first-ever solo stages in America.
The group kicked off the night by transforming the stage into a striking runway to an instrumental version of “Bad Influence (Prod. by Pharrell Williams).” What followed was a high-energy, 27-song set showcasing SEVENTEEN’s signature blend of artistry, precision, and unity punctuated by cinematic VCRs and heartfelt ments from the members. The show featured explosive group hits like “HOT,” “HIT,” and “Rock with you,” as well as new tracks “HBD” and “THUNDER” from their 5th studio album HAPPY BURSTDAY.
In a historic first for U.S. CARATs (SEVENTEEN’s fans), the group unveiled solo stages with each member spotlighting their unique musical identity. DINO opened the solo sets with “Trigger,” a modern twist on 2000s hip-hop R&B, followed by JUN’s Afro-electronic “Gemini,” a quiet reflection on self-rediscovery. VERNON delivered an uplifting anthem with “Shining Star,” while JOSHUA’s acid jazz-infused “Fortunate Change” offered a soulful meditation on love. DK brought warmth with his country-pop track “Happy Virus,” SEUNGKWAN stirred nostalgia with the emotional rock ballad “Raindrops,” and THE 8 took the audience on a dreamy, genre-blending journey with “Skyfall.” MINGYU turned up the swagger with his tech-house track “Shake It Off,” and S.COUPS brought the solo sets to a powerful close with “Jungle,” an Afro hip-hop celebration of the group’s decade-long journey.
The three-hour show also saw SEVENTEEN take on the performance unit’s “HIGHLIGHT” and run through tracks like “Domino,” “Network Love” (by JOSHUA, JUN, THE 8, and VERNON), “LOVE, MONEY, FAME (feat. DJ Khaled),” and their English-language songs “SOS (Prod. by Marshmello)” and “Darl+ing.”
Ahead of the encore, SEVENTEEN’s subunit CxM (S.COUPS and MINGYU) surprised fans with a brief but buzzworthy performance of their new single, “5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz).”
The group closed the night with a nostalgic and emotional encore set, including “A-TEEN,” “9-TEEN,” “20,” and “Eyes on you.” As expected, they ended the show with their signature encore track “VERY NICE”–repeating it multiple times in true SEVENTEEN fashion, keeping the crowd dancing and cheering until the very last beat.
The ‘NEW_’ tour continues with stops at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles (October 16 and 17), Moody Center in Austin (October 21 and 22), Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, FL (October 26 and 27), and Capital One Arena in Washington, DC (October 29 and 30). It signals a bold new era for SEVENTEEN, with the underscore (_) in the title representing limitless potential—an open space to be reinvented.
