[Exclusive Interview] JISU PARK on New Album and Why it's Okay to be Lazy

JISU PARK s a South Korean singer who debuted in the group DALMATIAN (DMTN) in 2010. He was known as one of the most talented male vocalists from the 2nd generation of Kpop with his clear and groovy vocals. In 2015 JISU debuted as the soloist KIXS. Now JISU is back with his first mini-album. [ESSAY] and has released the music video for his relatable song "Lazy."

Hello JISU! Congratulations on releasing your 1st mini-album, [ESSAY]! Can you tell us about your new song "Lazy"?

This song is for people who are working hard but sometimes want to be lazy. I am also working hard to make music and sing, but there are times when I feel lazy more than anyone else. If that happens, I hope you don't blame yourself, and just listen to this song and take a rest.

What was your favorite part of filming the MV?

From the group Dalmatian to solo KIXS, I have experienced many good music video filming sites. But this time, it was special because I set up a company and made it myself. I was able to think about the filming process in various ways and it was good to see it from a

wider perspective than before.

What is the first thing you do in the morning?

First, I eat a probiotic supplement on an empty stomach and drink coffee. And then go out and run.

You turn your music player on shuffle what is the first song that plays?

It's Ordinary People by Conner Reeves! This is one of my favorite songs!

Who would you love to collaborate with?

There is an R&B singer named JERO in Korea. His voice is the opposite of mine, but he is an excellent musician. I hope there will be a chance to sing together on the album Ji-Soo Park in the future.

What is something you like to hear from others?

Rather than wanting to hear something, I just want to be a musician who can impress people who listen to my music.

What is something you want to learn?

If I have a chance later, I want to get a chef's license. I love eating and cooking! Sometimes I make food for people around me. I am so happy to see them eat it deliciously!

Do you have any other hobbies or non-music related talents?

I don't think I have much talent other than music! But if possible, I hope I have a talent for cooking that I like!

If you could tour overseas, which countries would you like to visit?

I want to go anywhere where there are fans who like my music and voice. I've dreamed of singing in front of them in person. Please love my song so that my dream can come true.

What is a message you would give to your fans?

It took a long time to release a new album under the new name of JISU PARK in front of you. Until the album came out, many people helped me and joined me, so I was able to start anew. More than anything, I'd like to sincerely thank my fans for not forgetting and supporting me for such a long time. I will do my best to meet you more often in return for your waiting. Please show a lot of interest and love for the upcoming JISU PARK album!
